Deviation Actions

I'm being more selective about the deviations that are being accepted/submitted to the group.

There has always been a standard of high quality images, but that standard has sometimes been relaxed for outstanding costumes.  Although there is still leeway, I find that with the number of amazing photos out there, that I fudge those decisions much less than I did in the beginning.

If you submitted an item and it was rejected, and you know it was a good costume, it was probably the photograph that got it rejected.  Hotel lobby shots are harder to accept anymore.   Shots where you are just standing there in your costume - no pose, or poorly posed - don't make the cut much.  And shots where anime boys are making out, or cute anime girls are lying on the ground looking at the camera upside down almost never make it.

And, as I told one or two deviants who asked - it doesn't always mean the photo was bad.  Sometimes it is just that the photo does not feature the cosplay well enough - you can't see it, can't appreciate the craftsmanship that went into the costume.
